With Suspension Training, the straps are pinched together (and cannot be altered), providing some kind of stability. 

While with PULLEY SUSPENSION TRAINING (the inclusion of a central pulley means that the handles can be used to control the length of the strap on either side of the pulley), the friction is strongly reduced and it allows greater unilateral motion, that provide disruptive torques that contribute to INSTABILITY. This significantly increase the amount of effort and strength required to control and balance the system while in use.
